What is Lix (Tt)?

Lix is short for läsbarhetsindex, which is a Swedish method referring to the difficulty of reading a specific text. Lix is intended as a readability measure indicating the difficulty of texts. Lix was developed by Swedish scholar Carl-Hugo Björnsson and is computed as follows:

where:
A → is the number of words
B → is the number of periods ((defined by period, colon or capital first letter)
C → is the number of long words (6 letters or more).

TL;DR: The higher your Lix number, the more difficult your text is to read.

Keep this in mind when creating content. A lower lix will appeal to more people and likely carry less jargon.
